Questions we've helped answer.

Every project starts with a question someone needs answered. Here's a sample of ours — open a card to read the case study.

01Mental Health“Does funding social connection actually improve men's wellbeing?”Movember's Social Innovators Challenge — 12 funded projects across Australia, Canada and the UK.Read the case study +Close −
Client · MovemberService · EvaluationTimeframe · 2017–2026

The context

Movember has been funding social connection challenge grant programs since 2017. The Social Innovators Challenge funds initiatives testing novel delivery models to improve social connectedness, mental wellbeing and life satisfaction for men — and needed to know whether they work.

What we did

We led the global evaluation through piloting and scaling phases, tracking outcomes across 12 funded projects in Australia, Canada and the UK. We worked closely with the five funded projects to gather quantitative and qualitative data on the extent to which they work.

What it showed

All five projects work well in improving social connectedness and mental wellbeing, with clear links back to the knowledge gaps the program sought to address.

02Environment & Climate“What did the bushfire recovery achieve for biodiversity?”Victoria's Bushfire Biodiversity Response and Recovery Program, for DEECA.Read the case study +Close −
Client · Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA)Service · EvaluationTimeframe · 2020–2024

The context

The Bushfire Biodiversity Response and Recovery Program was formed in response to the 2019–20 Victorian bushfires, to assist the recovery of the species and ecological communities most at risk from the fires’ impacts.

What we did

We undertook a final evaluation of this multifaceted program, documenting achievements across its seven themes with a focus on overall implementation and lessons at the program level. We engaged 26 stakeholders — theme and project coordinators, steering committee members, government and private-sector partners, and the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC).

What it showed

The evaluation documented the program’s achievements and identified lessons to inform the design and delivery of future emergency response and recovery programs for biodiversity.
